360training.com Offers Germ Busting Tips & Free Handwashing Poster

Austin, Texas – May 5, 2009 - In response to the continued threats posed by the spread of the H1N1 virus, online safety training leader 360training.com shares the double handwashing technique and has made a free handwashing poster download available to the public.

With the United States having reported over 220 confirmed cases of the H1N1 virus across 30 states (this number is approaching 1000 worldwide) contracting the H1N1 virus may be imminent, but can be prevented with good hygiene practices. The CDC has instructed the public to follow six simple safety procedures to keep the virus from spreading.

  1. Avoid close contact
  2. Stay at home when you are sick
  3. Cover your mouth and nose
  4. Clean your hands
  5. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth
  6. Practice other good health habits

In addition to the CDC's recommendations, a proper handwashing method is important to avoiding viruses and busting germs. As taught in 360training.com's popular Learn2Serve™ food safety training courses, the double handwashing technique is one of the most effective ways to clean your hands and avoid contracting or spreading a virus of any kind.

The Double Handwashing Method:

  • Use Anti-microbial soap and running water.
  • Rub your hands together for at least 20 seconds.
  • Wash all parts of your hands including the backs, wrists, between the fingers,
    and under the fingernails.
  • Using a nail brush, wash and brush each finger.
  • Rinse well under warm running water.
  • Soap and wash all parts of your hands AGAIN for at least 20 seconds.
  • Rinse well under warm, running water.
  • Dry hands with a clean paper towel or cloth.
  • Use the paper towel or cloth to turn off the water or open restroom doors
